Friendship With Christmas looming, I could not help but think at about the people in my life.  It has been 4 years since my life fell apart, since I lost everything I held dear save for my son.  I have had many friends or should I say people I thought were friends and realised many stayed for the feast and leave for the famine. I have learnt during the last four years about true friendship and can honestly say today that I have 4 true friends, of course I have many acquaintances and colleagues but true friends 4. Those who would run to my aid when needed and those I can simply pick up the phone and chat because something silly had happened and I simply wanted to tell them about it. We all have different relationships with different friends, the friend you can talk to about absolute rubbish, the friend you can tell your most intimate secrets to, the friend you can turn to for serious advice and the friend you’ve known forever, no matter what they will always be there. Friendship is a combination of these things and as life takes over you learn to choose who can handle your woes at any given time and those that need you to pick them up and indeed those that will take your criticism without offence. These are your true friends. I have written about friendship before, about give and take but it is not a scoreboard. I do for you so you have to do for me.  If this is what you believe, then you don’t understand...

It’s The Party Season Yep it’s that time of year again, drinking and eating far too much, the constant invites and the unwillingness to say no, until you peruse that vast wardrobe and discover you have nothing to wear. The truth is you have many outfits just nothing that fits. I went from a size 10 to a size 14 in such a short period and felt fat. It’s as simple as that. It was Wednesday and the boat party was on Thursday, what was I going to do. Yes, before you think it, go shopping.  Shopping is great when you feel comfortable in your own skin. I do not, I feel ugly and extremely overweight and thus shopping makes me feel depressed. Tuesday night I took a water pill. Ladies water pills are not good for your kidneys and doctors are extremely reluctant to prescribe them but when your feet are so swollen that you end up at the doctor’s surgery in your flip-flops because you can’t put a pair of shoes on, trust me after a little begging they will prescribe it. I am not suggesting you do this but I did. After running to the toilet throughout the night, I weighed myself the following morning and discovered I was 5 lbs lighter. However, remember this was excess water, not fat loss. Next salt water flush, I read this will reduce your weight by at least 7 to 8 lbs. I boiled a 1 litre of water and added 3 teaspoons of sea salt. It is recommended to use sea salt or Himalayan pink salt.  Now...
The Secrets of Pumpkin Seeds Explained by Anthony William The Medical Medium

The Secrets of Pumpkin Seeds Explained by Anthony William The Medical Medium

Pumpkin Seeds the Nourishers of Nature Pumpkin Seeds are one of nature’s most nourishing foods. They contain high amounts of vitamin E, B-complex, magnesium, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids. Pumpkin seeds are essential for men’s health and provide significant protection for the prostate gland. They are an excellent source of tryptophan which is critical for good quality sleep and for keeping anxiety and depression at bay. The B-complex vitamins in pumpkin seeds work as co-factors in the body to help reduce cholesterol and enhance GABA activity which is also known to reduce anxiety and neurological disorders. Pumpkin seeds also contain anti-inflammatory properties which provide benefit for those that suffer with chronic inflammation such as in sinusitis, arthritis, bursitis, and other autoimmune disorders. Pumpkin seeds have high concentrations of phytosterols that can help to inhibit the absorption of cholesterol in the gastrointestinal tract which ultimately can help reduce the bad cholesterol in the body. Pumpkin Seeds have also been known to prevent kidney stones and osteoporosis. Pumpkin seed butter is a great and tasty alternative to peanut butter and can be found online and in most health food stores. Raw pumpkin seeds will provide you with the most nutrition and health benefits. Try sprinkling them on salads, adding them to trail mixes, or chop them with dates to make your own healthy energy bars.   Mr Right or Mr All Wrong? Finding that someone special is especially hard when you are over 40 and a single mum.  Gone are the days of clubbing and going out every week. Unfortunately, you find you have other priorities and going on the prowl is not one of them. I decided after a few failed dates to join a dating site. I wanted to find Mr Right or at least Mr Half Right and most of all I needed a bit of fun. Are dating sites the place to go? Who knew? I also thought the details one provided under the profile section would match you up with someone of a similar character. Clearly, I thought wrongly. I am not going to go into the details but go straight into one such date. It all began with a Hi, how are you?’ this was a message I received some time ago and yes, I replied with a Hi and I’m fine how are you but had heard nothing further. I was surprised to see a message from him sometime later, apologising for not getting back to me earlier and some excuse about work or something. He appeared to be very good looking, Asian; the same complexion as me with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Yes, very good-looking and from the pic you could tell he knew it, what with the posing and why do men pout? What is that all about? We did the very basic chat and he gave me his number. I called him while he was waiting for a date to arrive but...
Gluten-Free Wild Blueberry Muffins

Gluten-Free Wild Blueberry Muffins

A Liver Rescue Recipe From Anthony William The Medical Medium These bite-sized blueberry morsels come out of the oven warm, fluffy, and ready to enjoy for breakfast or any time of day. They make a great addition to any packed lunch or afternoon snack. The batter comes together in the blender in minutes, making this a quick and easy option whenever you need one. In my latest book Liver Rescue, I share how the star ingredients in this recipe—bananas and wild blueberries—can support you and your loved ones in healing. Let’s take a look: Wild blueberries contain dozens of undiscovered antioxidants, including anthocyanin varieties. There’s not just one pigment inside a wild blueberry; there are dozens of pigments not yet researched or studied. The wild blueberry is to the liver as mother’s milk is to a baby. Not only do wild blueberries have the ability to grab on to plenty of troublemakers, they also hold on to them as they leave the liver, in a way that most other healing foods cannot. The pigments in wild blueberries have the ability to saturate deep into liver cells and cross cell walls and membranes inside the liver, spreading their blue everywhere. Wild blueberries enhance the intestinal tract, feeding good bacteria there, which benefits the liver greatly. Bananas’ fructose is the liver’s favourite source of food. It provides quick fuel to the liver and wakes up sleepy cells, increasing their ingenuity and work output. Bananas soothe the linings of the intestinal tract and also soothe the nerves attached to the intestinal tract. Contrary to popular belief, bananas are one of the...
Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts – A Liver Rescue Remedy

Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts – A Liver Rescue Remedy

A good healthy Christmas Recipe from The Medical Medium Anthony William This brussels sprout recipe is unbelievably appealing. Brussel Sprouts are sweet and spicy and tangy and rich with flavour. If spicy is not your preference, feel free to leave out the spices for a sweet and salty treat that will keep everyone coming back for more. In Liver Rescue, I share how each of these ingredients can support you and your loved ones in healing. Let’s take a look: Brussels sprouts: An ultimate liver-cleansing food, providing a vast array of chemical compounds and phytonutrients. The sulphur compounds found specifically in brussels sprouts are different from those in any other food in the cruciferous (that is, Brassica) family, as they’re derived from the large mother stalk upon which the little baby brussels sprouts grow. This is some of the most powerful, beneficial sulphur for the liver; it has the ability, to loosen hardened prison cells of poisons and inherited troublemaker toxins, because it has a greater reach for toxins that have been in your family line for generations, if not centuries. Once it loosens up the cell prisons, old poisons come out, though they don’t go rogue. Brussels sprouts’ sulphur has an ability unlike any other to cling to each poison and safely escort it out of the liver, whether through the kidneys, bile duct, or intestinal tract, staying bonded all the way until the troublemaker leaves the body. It’s a food rarity. Lemons (and limes): Improve hydrochloric acid production as well as bile production and potency. Contain micro mineral salts that break down pathogens such as unproductive...
Bloating Explained by Anthony William – The Medical Medium

Bloating Explained by Anthony William – The Medical Medium

Do you suffer from Bloating? There is a Solution Why do we bloat? Everyone has experienced bloating at some stage, or if they haven’t yet, it’s very likely they will in the future. And yet despite it being so prevalent, medical science and research know very little about what is really behind bloating. Even the trendiest diets today don’t have accurate answers for bloating. Many of those diets blame lectins, but lectins are not the problem—as I share in my book, Liver Rescue, there are lectins in every single fruit and vegetable. The lectin information that tells you to avoid certain fruits and vegetables is misinformation that you need to know the truth about so you don’t deprive yourself of their healing nutrients. Others blame gluten, and while the unknown truth is that gluten does feed pathogens like Epstein-Barr virus, HSV, shingles, and streptococcus bacteria, which science and research hasn’t yet discovered, the real cause of bloating lies much deeper. Bloating really stems from an overburdened, toxic or sluggish liver that can then lead to digestive troubles. I cover how this happens in-depth in my book, Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune, but let’s take a look here at what’s happening in your body so you can get started with healing. A Sluggish Liver Currently, nine out of ten people have some level of a sluggish liver. As I share in Liver Rescue, it will be ten out of ten people in the future. This means that eventually everyone will experience a symptom...

To Be or Not to Be In some cultures, marriage for women is a natural course of growing up and through marriage comes children. In these cultures, parents feel it is their duty to ensure that girls make a good marriage. What does this mean? That their girls marry a man that can support them and look after them. I am not going to criticise certain practices but I am going to say those who have arranged marriages it should be about more than financial stability. Let us not confuse culture with religion. No religion that exists today dictates arrange marriages. It does however in the fifth commandment state honour your father and mother. In Islam, be dutiful to your parents, this entails a whole host of things but not marriage specifically. Hindu’s are brought up in the belief that mother comes first, then father, teacher and lastly god. In all religions respecting and obeying ones parents is a way of showing gratitude for bringing you up. All religions are about respect to your parents. I am not going to go through a full explanation of the different religions but I am going to reiterate no religion states that your parents should choose whom you marry. This is a cultural practice. To obey and respect your parents is not about doing everything they say especially when they are wrong and yes parents can make the wrong decisions for us, they are only human after all. If I am wrong, please feel free to tell me. I have many friends that have been forced into arrange marriages and in this...
The Real Cause of Vitiligo – Anthony William – The Medical Medium

The Real Cause of Vitiligo – Anthony William – The Medical Medium

If you’ve been diagnosed with vitiligo, you have most likely been told you have an autoimmune disorder and that not much can be done to heal it. According to this theory, your body is destroying its melanin-producing cells, responsible for the pigment of your skin. But this is exactly that: a theory. It’s not the truth and it’s not why you or someone you know has vitiligo. The entire autoimmune theory that your body never attacks itself is incorrect. It’s critical to understand this if you have vitiligo or any other condition that you’ve been told is autoimmune. Unfortunately, this false belief is at the foundation of medical thinking, leaving countless people feeling like they are living in a body that has turned against them. The truth is that your body never turns against you. There’s a very real cause of so-called autoimmune conditions like vitiligo, eczema, Hashimoto’s disease, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and others, and these are real illnesses. And once you know the real cause, which I share in Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease, you can then apply the information that can help you heal. Get Your Copy of Liver Rescue If it’s not autoimmune, what is it? The answer to this question has three parts. Primarily, vitiligo and many other autoimmune diseases are caused by an epidemic of virus’ medical science and research haven’t yet discovered. It’s specific viruses that are to blame for so many chronic symptoms and illnesses. In the case of vitiligo, it can be...

Motherhood the Selfish Side (Part 2) In last week’s article, I wrote about the gift of being a mother.  However, there is also another side, a side that many of us will not voice, a side that we constantly think about and ask God to forgive us, for even thinking about it. My life was once amazing; I had a husband an amazing job and travelled the world with no responsibility. It felt like overnight my life changed dramatically.  My son was born, two years later my marriage failed, the recession hit and I lost my business. I was left with nothing except the responsibility of my beautiful baby boy. Did I resent it yes!!! My ex-husband’s family asked many times to let them look after him until I could get back on my feet and I said no. When I think about those dark days part of me wished I took them up on the offer. Am I being selfish, absolutely,  but I honestly believe I would have been better for it.  My son is a lot older now and life has become simpler but when he was younger the constant playing chauffeur, the constant worrying about him, the constant daily repetition can be debilitating. Children can suck the life out of you, you lose your identity, and you forget that you are a woman. Life becomes a constant battle to keep your sanity.  Every day we watch the news or pick up a newspaper and we hear or read about evil. Murder, paedophilia and children going missing etc. A day does not go by when you...
